Glasgow Gallery – Art Pistol going great guns

Gallery 4

Like a bag of expertly microwaved popcorn, the Art Pistol gallery have stopped popping up around Glasgow and set up residence on the West End’s charming Cresswell Lane. If Art Pistol were popcorn… they’d be a great big box of salty and sweet. Their fresh white walls consumed with edgy, beautiful and generally different art.

Disclaimer: Art Pistol do not sell popcorn. Ali from Art Pistol even tells me that he’s indifferent to popcorn. Too late. The analogy paints a good picture, and that’s important for an art gallery. Their walls are positively brimming with a fascinating mix of contemporary art from the best emerging artists and some well-established gallery favourites too.

A new Winter Show now dominates their walls, with artwork ranging from super affordable to heart-rate-increasing – although a 0% interest offer on purchases will reduce the pulse a bit. But art should get the pulse racing, speak to you on a personal level, or just raise a smile. And that’s what sets this unique art gallery apart.

It is all a bit different and the prices will please. If you like weird and wonderful or bold and beautiful, then Art Pistol is where you’ll discover it. They’re a refreshing addition to Glasgow’s already vibrant and esteemed art scene, and just on your West End doorstep.

Or visit to view the work of hundreds of emerging and independent UK artists.
